If You Don’t Like It Here Go Back To where You Came From
Is it libel to quote someone on YouTube as having said something they did not say? I only watched this video because I could not believe that Rand Paul would say “Go back to your shithole country!”
Now YouTube will spread this audacious lie for more click bait to get more views. This is so disingenuous. If you watch the video you will see that those were not his exact words though he may have implied that. And to me that’s concerning. If my first point still stands. Why put words in his mouth when what he said was quite clear along with his disdain for what MS. Johan Omar said.
“…I am willing contribute to buy her a ticket to go visit Somalia and I think she could look and maybe learn a little bit about the disaster that is Somalia that it has no capitalism, has no God given rights guaranteed in a constitution and has about 7 different tribes that have been fighting each other for the last 40 years. And then maybe after she’s visited Somalia for a while, she may come back and appreciate America more.”
On the other hand, are we at a place where only people who were born here in the USA have the “right” to express how they feel about living here?
We see folks on mainstream and alternative media expressing their concerns about this country. Should they all go back to where they came from?

If we were to tell those folks to go back to where they came from, they would be hard press to pick a country, as for the most part, this so-called melting pot would make it difficult for them to actually pinpoint their country of origin some generations later. At least she knows her country of origin.
The USA is not this beacon of freedom and democracy that they would like to claim it is. And I was of the mind that if you are a citizen of this country and you have free speech, that if you have a complaint you should have the right to express it. You know the whole “We hold these truths to be self-evident……..”

But because Ilhan Omar is not from the USA she has to hold her tongue and not express her thoughts because where she came from is much worse? I will not go into how her country, formerly colonized by the British and Italians, got worse as it would take me on a tangent beyond the scope of this writing. But suffice it to say that Somalia has been impacted by several US policies over the decades. So in part, the US is responsible for at least some of those tribal wars.

I don’t get the correlation, however Mr. Paul put it. But it does show his limitations on being a genuine champion of the people. That is, while he may have badgered Dr. Fauci about the origins of the CV1984 virus coming from a lab in Wuhan (which to me is a red herring) it does show his limitations or lack of knowledge of his own country’s meddling in the affairs of the country of Somalia. That aside, the statement made is one of the most baseless take downs anyone with intelligence could use, as it simply dismisses the legitimate concern to a one liner.
“Go back to where you came from then. Shut up or put up.”
Case closed. End of conversation.
In fact I would wager had Ilhan Omar been another person armed with the info on the US involvement in the disruptions in Somalia, then that person would follow up with the question, “What would you do, Mr. Paul?” and there would have been a very different conversation. In fact Mr. Paul may have opened a can of worms without realizing it.
Ms. Omar is in congress obviously, because she wants to give a voice to the voiceless. To be honest that is merely my assumption. I don’t know her personally nor am I aware of her political stance on many issues. So I must admit, it’s my assumption. Be that as it may, if we are going to tell her to go back to where she came from, then are we
saying that the founding of this country should have never happened out of dissent against Britain’s rule
that every other person who was born here should not complain or point out their concerns
that any complaint about the Justice system in this country should be responded to with “just go back to where they came from” as well?
I’m confused.
Of course, that would be a great challenge for them. This country proudly claims to be a country of immigrants, Statue of liberty and all.

Folks came here from all over the world. Many have intermingled with each other, so which country would they return to when they become discontent. How about you Mr. Paul? Where do your ancestors hail from? Many of these so called Americans are so miscegenated that they would have to put a bunch of country names in a hat and pick one to see which country they would return to.
It is very disingenuous for a descendent of immigrants to tell a newly arrived immigrant to go back to where they came from, when they too have come from countries seeking asylum in the USA.
Granted, this is merely a sound bite from 2019, posted on YouTube, on June 27, 2024, without any context before or after this comment from Mr. Paul, however it still demonstrates a glaring admission, that only some folks are allowed to complain about the Justice system in the U. S. and obviously according to Mr. Paul, that allowance is not granted to Ms. Omar.
Conclusion: When it’s all said and done, there is an American exceptionalism that overrides the facts of what this country is or is not. They claim to be American citizens when in fact they are only citizens of the United States of America.
Additionally, they feel they can self-righteously tell someone to go back to where they came from and totally ignore their own immigrant status, the Declaration of Independence and the fact that this country was founded by people who were very discontented with their country of origin.
